Stewardship. Transparency. Trust.
As a ministry supported by generous partners, GoTEN is committed to financial integrity, accountability, and transparency. We work diligently to ensure every dollar is stewarded wisely in support of our mission to facilitate discipleship relationships among unreached people.
Our budget is prepared with the assistance of the Board Finance Committee, the Board Treasurer, and the President of GoTEN, reviewed and approved annually by the Board, and monitored through quarterly financial statements. Monthly internal audits and reconciliations help ensure accuracy and integrity.
Detailed financial statements and IRS Form 990s are available upon request. To request copies, email finance@goten.org.
GoTEN is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), holds a Platinum Transparency seal from Candid/Guidestar, and is rated by Charity Navigator.
Our Commitment to Financial Integrity
GoTEN follows nationally recognized best practices for nonprofit stewardship. We emphasize clear communication, donor intent, internal controls, and board oversight so that every dollar is used effectively and in alignment with our mission.
Wise & Faithful Stewardship
Every dollar given is prayerfully and strategically allocated to maximize impact among unreached people. We avoid unnecessary debt, limit financial risk, and ensure spending aligns with board-approved priorities.
Board Governance & Oversight
Our budget is developed collaboratively by the Board Finance Committee, Board Treasurer, and President. The full Board reviews and votes on the annual budget and meets quarterly to review financial statements and key indicators.
Internal Controls & Accountability
Monthly internal audits, bank reconciliations, dual-authorization processes, and documented procedures—guided by our Standard Policies Manual—help protect assets and ensure accurate reporting.
Professional Accounting Support
GoTEN’s financial records are compiled by CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA), a nationally respected nonprofit accounting firm. This partnership helps ensure our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and in line with nonprofit standards.
How We Honor Your Gifts
GoTEN deeply values the trust donors place in us. We honor donor intent in the following ways:
- Restricted Gifts: Funds given with formal restrictions are used exclusively for the purpose specified by the donor.
- Preferenced Staff Ministry Gifts: Gifts to staff support are treated as preferenced for that staff member’s ministry activities. We make every reasonable effort to honor the donor’s preference while retaining the Board’s legal discretion over the use of funds.
- If a staff member transitions from GoTEN, remaining preferenced funds are reviewed by the Board and reallocated in a way that best advances GoTEN’s mission.
- All uses of funds are reviewed to ensure they support GoTEN’s mission, values, and stated purposes as outlined in our governing documents and SPM.
Aligned With Leading Nonprofit Standards
Prominent nonprofits prioritize transparency, governance, and accountability. GoTEN aligns with these standards while remaining focused on our unique mission to reach the unreached.
Transparent Reporting
While we do not post full financial statements online, partners may request our Form 990, financial statements, or a budget summary by emailing finance@goten.org. We are glad to share these with individuals, churches, and partners who want to learn more.
Governance & Board Accountability
The Board meets at least quarterly, reviewing financial statements, key trends, and risk factors, and ensuring adherence to our Standing Policies Manual and ECFA standards.
Clear Financial Policies
Our Standard Policies Manual addresses budgeting, asset protection, compensation, internal controls, and executive limitations, providing a clear framework for wise decision-making.
Independent Professional Support
Partnering with external accounting professionals and recognized watchdog organizations provides additional layers of accountability and confidence for our donors and partners.
Other Ways to Give
Your generosity fuels disciple-making among unreached people. Here are several strategic ways to partner with GoTEN:
Give Stock & Assets
Donating appreciated assets such as stocks or mutual funds can increase your impact and may provide tax advantages. Our team can help you initiate a simple transfer from your brokerage account.
Required Minimum Distributions
If you are age 70½ or older, you may give directly from your IRA as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This can satisfy part or all of your Required Minimum Distribution while reducing taxable income.
Legacy & Estate Giving
Leave a legacy that continues the mission for generations through bequests, beneficiary designations, and other planned gifts.
